General Technician (Port Elizabeth)
Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Technician is tasked with the maintenance, testing, and repair of computer hardware. This may encompass PCs, Tablets, Notebooks, Power Supply Units (PSUs), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), monitors, printers, cash registers, and/or other associated devices and components based on the position's needs.
Responsibilities:
• Achieve an optimal number of repairs daily according to the specific field, ensuring a minimum of 4 repairs per day.
• Complete work within a turnaround period of less than two days.
• Maintain a work rate exceeding 90% of Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Keep the rework rate below 3%.
• Adhere to the appropriate testing procedures for international brands.
• Record test outcomes on the server.
• Accept repairs into the system promptly after retrieving the item from the customer’s location.
• Follow up with clients awaiting updates and refresh the notes in the system. Keep clients informed about job progress.
• Return 100% of test inventory to service stores within two days of receipt.
• Fill out relevant forms, such as fault reports, on a daily basis.
• Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner as a representative of Mustek.
• Uphold a professional appearance with a focus on being clean and well-dressed.
• Contribute to team success by achieving related outcomes as required.
• Stay updated on technological developments related to the product range.
• Provide customer assistance, whether through email, phone, or at the front desk.
Qualification and Experience:
• Matric
• CompTIA A+
• N+ (Preferred)
• 2 years of experience as a technician
• Driver’s license (Preferred)
Skills and Knowledge:
• Understanding of the ICT industry
• Technical knowledge of product software and hardware offerings
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft applications
• Analytical problem-solving abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Technical skills and ability to analyze problems
• Driver competency
• Effective trip management
